Translucent with divots and inclusions. Body length 33.7 mm x 17.2 mm.
An unassuming pseudocclupanid, but its nearly invisible body belied its importance during the Covid-19 global pandemic. By means of an additional secondary oral vesicle, V. altheus and others of order Persolla are able to keep breath masks firmly on the faces of human wearers. With a mask in place, humans (and their symbiotic pseudocclupanids) were able to successfully increase their range into biomes that were previously unsafe and return unharmed. Discovered in Sydney outside a health clinic by occlupanologist Kurisu.
