While scrutinizing a collection of P. Junoflora, FORC Scholar C. Ayers discovered several of unusual occlupanopsids nestled discretely among them, all with the signature combination of notches and tufts of genus Mirivorus. Other occlupanologists in turn surveyed their collections, which yielded similar results. As FORC Scholar N. Juju writes, “A search through old documentation uncovered that these sneaky mimics were found on Country Harvest and D’Italiano branded bread as late as August 22nd 2024. No new specimens have seen been found since 2024, they are thus believed to be extinct, all known specimens were Canadian in origin.” Though it has been sighted on bagged loaves of bread, this occlupanopsid has a noted preference for outdoor parking lots.  M. praetermissus can be identified by having an oral groove that closely mimics that of the occlupanid Palpatophora utiliformis.
