Collected by occlupanologist E. Welby of New Hampshire, who discovered it in a large pile of more common occlupanids.\u00a0 Nothing else is known about this striking specimen. Occlupanids from the Porrectofrontus genus are some of the oldest described, but their frequency had been diminishing in the ensuing decades.
