While the size and uniquely arched oral groove greatly resembles Aspericardis lehmeri<\/em>, the unique edge morphology clearly puts this occlupanid in its own genus. In addition, the dential processes of Acerlatus madisoniae<\/em> are squared-off, instead of rounded. Discovered and described by FORC occlupanologist M. Taylor, who found it clinging to a bag of potatoes at a Walmart in Champaign, Illinois.\u00a0 It shares this host organism with a number of similarly-proportioned occlupanids, notably A. lehmeri<\/em> and Serrategula kartoffelensis<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
