Integument is a pale lavender hue. Specimen seems to have lost one of its uniquely sharpened palps. Size 21 mm x 25 mm.<\/p>\n

Already making history by conducting the first ever occlupanid survey of Southern Africa, researchers P. Steinmetz and J. Krauss stunned the world of occlupanology by announcing their discovery of an entirely new order never before described by science. Collected in a\u00a0 parking lot frequented by backpackers near Zimbabwe’s Victoria Falls, Steinmetz and Krauss instantly recognized the importance of their find. They carefully recorded its surroundings and other pertinent data, and sent the specimen to the Holotypic Occlupanid Research Group, along with other occlupanids collected from Botswana and South Africa. Upon receipt the specimen was hailed as the first ever family ever to be scientifically described from the African continent, the Spinosacculidae. The singular holotype specimen, named by Steinmetz and Krauss in honor of its location, now resides as a treasured asset in the HORG collection.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
