L. usitatus<\/em> gets its name due it unusually curved fang like oral hooks. Its discovery in 2020 coincides with that of the Toxodentid Amydromorphus lissobunus.<\/em> It is conjectured that these occlupanids have converged to fill a similar niche, though it is unknown if L. usitatus<\/em> has a predilection for bagels. It has been observed in at least eight different color morphs, including white, pale blue, yellow, orange, tan, pink, and red. Discovered and described by occlupanologist C.
