Despite clear morphological connections to congeners of Diplacofelis<\/em>, some artistically-minded synthetic taxonomists at HORG have insisted that D. ridwellensis<\/em> be renamed –Diplacocanis-<\/em>, alleging that, if hypothetically folded bilaterally, it would more resemble a pug or Shiba Inu. To date no comprehensive creased menagerie of other palp-bearing occlupanids has been collected to prove any of these theories, which is just as well. Species described by scholar L. Helm (FORC), who discovered it in a Portland recycling facility. Specimens of D. ridwellensis have been collected from bags of apples in the American Southeast.
