Dutch beachcomber M. Kerkhof became well-acquainted with occlupanids during his forays into the field, amassing a small collection in his quest to keep the shores of the Lek River clear of refuse. This new littoral species of Tridentid was discovered while removing syntherae from the riverside outside of Vianen.
