Small, uncommon, and possibly already extinct in the wild: Family Lagotremidae<\/span> is currently only represented by a single specimen found in a discontinued toy line. While initially placed in the Toxodentidae due to the presence of two faint peaks that echo endolateral dential processes, its whimsical combination of rounded inner oral groove and Corrugatid-like furrows create a unique and iconic morphology that for now sets it apart from other families. While currently considered a monotypic taxon much like the Mycognathidae, its relationship and status with other occlupanid taxa are still under review. Members of this family, if any are ever found, are identified by two gular furrows branching out of a rounded oral groove.\u00a0<\/p>\n
