Small sharply-chiseled asymmetrical palps. Size 21.7 mm x 24.6mm
This intriguing species, discovered in 2021, sports adaptations of sickle-hooked oral grooves (such as those in genus Amydromorphus) and the chiseled palps that have become fashionable amongst recent Tridentids. Recovered from bags of Elie’s Mini Crescent Rolls in a Dollar Tree by A. Welby. H. priodermus has been encountered on a variety of hosts, including bags of carrots.
