External morphology

Secondary circular aboral vesicle 10mm diameter. Body size 35mm x 22mm.

The primary habitat of this bizarre occlupanid is hardware stores, where it can be found attached to bags containing industrial duct tubing. Previously only known in California, a second specimen was collected by paleontologists in Montana. Previously placed in genus Cyrtotergum, the subsequent discovery of a second Archignathan species sharing a similar morphology has helped to push this occlupanid into a new genus, and with it a new species name honoring the founder of the Two Medicine Dinosaur Center, David Trexler. The only other occlupanid to sport such an arresting morphology is the Toxodentid Uniporus Vaportubis.
