The oral groove of this tiny occlupanid displays a curious asymmetry, especially in its first (gular) oral furrows. A survey of multiple specimens, each showing the identical quasi-warped pattern, prove that this is no mere mutation. M. distortus is found in an incredibly rarified niche; blind box series of miniature foods such as “いっぱい買っちゃう！家ちかスーパー” (see Fig. 3) .
