Lateral palps, large size. 42 mm x 32.5 mm.
Looking for all the world like a close match of Megapanis huningi, this large occlupanid has a gentler slope to its oral hooks, and notable considerable difference in the placement of its lateral palps. It is provisionally given the designation of subspecies. These traits have been found to be present in other recently discovered subspecies of Megapanis, so therefore is unlikely to be a mutation. It is unknown if this new subspecies has supplanted H. huningi. This specimen was submitted by occlupanid-artisan S. Nottingham. Nottgingham has collected this sample and others on bags of potatoes, but not all bear markings.
