The discovery of Admordorsum dominici was brought about by a globe-spanning international network of researchers tirelessly investigating the global distribution of occlupanids. The submitted holotype was collected by Australian occlupanologist A. Lee (FORC), who found one lying on top of a manhole cover in Melbourne.  A. dominici is described by researcher Miku (FORC) from Belgium, after Dominic, who first observed it in Namibia. In all countries it appears to have bags of bread as the primary host.
