- External morphology
Varies widely but all conspecifics have dorsally arched body.
Distinguished from E. arcuaparvoris by having a larger oral groove. The various subspecies that make up E. arcuatis are deeply varied, but most are of a larger body size. Many of the forms observed can closely mimic fruits and vegetables; Occlupanologists are advised to exercise caution when conducting research in the field on an empty stomach. While some have been spotted in the wild, others have been acquired in laboratory settings.
A partial sampling of observed subspecies include:
E. arcuatis allioformis
(“garlic-shaped bowed changing-body”)
56.3mm x 56.7 mm
E. arcuatis citrops
(“citron-like bowed changing-body”)
51 mm x 41.3 mm
E. arcuatis crispusartus
(“curly-frame bowed changing-body”)
49.3 mm x 50.5mm
Species discovered and described by M. Rutledge and GASTRORC. More information about these curious occlupanids can be found here.
