Species first observed in early 2021 on a bag of Thomas English Muffins in Maryland, by Occlupanologist P. Becnel of FORC. Many subsequent sightings across the Eastern United States followed, with much discussion as to its sudden population boom. Scholars referred to the as-yet unidentified occlupanid in passing as the “long ilex”, in reference to Quadratopalpus ilex, a similarly-palped Cardiorid. Species submitted by E. Welby.
