External morphology

Small rounded symmetrical palps, tiny spines often present. Size 21.7 mm x 23.7 mm.

Its name refers to the ephemeral nature of this species, as well as the slight overbearing sense of dread and doom some have felt when observing it, thought to have predicted its swift extinction. Specimens of U. moxidamnata were first discovered by occlupanologist N. Juju, who observed it parasitizing bags of St-Méthode bread in Québec in the autumn of 2025. In the following months, the S. hollandium occlupanids it replaced had rebounded, causing U. moxidamnata to be extirpated from the region soon after. Various color morphs of this occlupanid have been observed. Its integument is similar to hyaline occlupanids such as N. vitripalpus; shiny, opaque, and highly flexible. This seems to point to an external stress selecting for this trait in multiple species. The palps of this new genus are much narrower and positioned farther apart than those of Neotessera. Each palp is tipped with a hair-thin needle-like protrusion, hard enough to scrape the skin. Despite its pliable body, field researchers should take physical and mental cautionary measures before handling. Species discovered and described by N. Juju.
