One fascinating phenomenon occlupanopsids is how they seem to aggressively take over other habitats, supplanting even other occlupanopsids in a short amount of time. Soon after discovering Artophantasma threnator, FORC scholar A. Howard noticed much of its former range in some grocery biomes diminished, replaced with Systellops successor . This smaller-grooved member of the Tridentaceae was directly observed on various bagged bread products in British Columbia, Canada.
