External morphology

Wavy outer aboral edge, and rounded arms. Size 24 mm X 22 mm.

This rare and incredibly unique occlupanid is a mystery. Clearly its razor-sharp oral groove and decidedly owl-like demeanor is meant to grab onto something powerful, but researchers are at a loss to explain what. Of the few specimens collected, none were found in their original habitats. It is hoped that more information can one day be brought to light.
