Species
U. wrightae
External morphology

26 mm x 21.5 mm. Small processes on anterior and ventral edges.

Distinguished from its other taxonomic siblings in the Unidentia complex by its wide oral groove. Discovered on a bag of hamburger buns by field researcher J. Wright during a Memorial Day picnic in Morgantown, West Virginia. Like many others of genus Unidentia, U. wrightae possesses small processes on outside of oral hooks, and behind the aboral region. A curious variation has been discovered on bags of sweet potatoes in Canada, with additional growth surrounding these processes. It could be a new adaptation to protect this delicate part of occlupanid anatomy.
