small process in median of aboral edge. 6.7 mm x 6.4 mm.
The smallest haplognathid currently known to science. Athyrmidion imagiglacialis can be found on an incredibly specialized host entity: Miniature doll-size plastic bags. The first recorded specimen was discovered by field researcher P. Marder of Victoria, Australia, who found it attached to a miniature bag of plastic play-ice.Other eyewitness accounts of this eye-straining occlupanid have simultaneously been reported, possibly due to its method of global transmission via international shipping. A small single process on the aboral edge is sometimes found on specimens, which have been observed in both white and asureus and rutilus color morphs. It has also been observed on miniature bags of plastic bagels.
